DCPRO24 This DCPRO24 is essential for power amplifiers. In the event of an amplifier major failure, the DCPRO24 will automatically disconnect the loudspeaker, thus preventing DC from destroying it. The DC sensing is instantaneous. As seen in the schematic above, the DCPRO24 can be powered in 2 ways. The recommended method is to use the 24Vdc that’s available in the PSU15REG pcb. But if you prefer not to, you can tap the power from the positive supply rail of your power amplifier. I incorporated a 24Vdc zener regulator for just that purpose.
On board the DCPRO24 is a 16A relay. This relay is sonically transparent. The pcb footprint is only 2.9″X1.9″. Two are needed for stereo. I will post an update when the pcbs are in-hand. |
