Thruster THW835 I don’t normally buy subwoofers but when I came across this Thruster in Parts-Express BUYOUT, I couldn’t resist. It has a Qts of 0.28. Now, that’s one Qts that I really like. A Mms of 29.63g and a Maximum Linear Excursion (Xmax) of 2.5mm suggest it’s not a sub but more of a woofer. I have no issues with that as I do not intend to use this woofer for movies. Manufacturer’s Specs My wishes came true. DATS measured Qts at 0.27 which is very close to the published specs. Mms came in at 27.11g. This is near to 29.63g. Personally, I prefer the Mms to be about 20g but for less than $20, I can’t really complain. Ported Box=20 liters | F3=53Hz | Q=0.46I will load the Thruster in a 20 liters Bass Reflex tuned for a F3 of 53Hz. That should be good enough for music. During my audition, I will be focusing on the bass quality, namely the attack and clarity. I’m not interested in how loud and low it will go. That’s for movies. |
